Styrenics in consumer electronics

Styrenic plastics are used in computer housings and computer keyboards. Their lightness, strength and design versatility all contribute to their growing use in portable equipment for computing and communication purposes. Styrenic plastics are used in video game consoles and are also frequently used in the housings for TVs as well as both audio and video equipment. Indeed even the CDs and DVDs played in this equipment are frequently protected by packaging made from polystyrene. In instances where transparency is required polystyrene would be used, as is the case with the CD jewel boxes.
